I read, watch, listen to, play, and use a ton of different things, and each month, I pick out a few of my favorites to recommend.
By the numbers
Apollo 11
Awe-inspiring documentary about the Apollo 11 mission, compiled entirely from archival footage, with no narration or interviews.
Frostpunk (Windows) 11 bit studios
Frostpunk is a city-survival game where heat means life and every decision comes with a cost.
Quantum computing for the very curious
Andy Matuschak and Michael Nielsen
A month ago, I knew basically nothing about quantum computing.
Thanks to this essay (as well as their follow-up and this lecture I happened to watch around the same time), I now have a pretty decent grasp of the basics of how quantum computers work and how to design algorithms for them.
This essay also tries something extra interesting: it has built in spaced repetition flashcards, and after you finish reading it, it will regularly email you with reviews of the material, helping you retain the information long-term.
