Michael's Monthly Recommendations (July 2018)

I read, watch, listen to, play, and use a ton of different things every month, and I pick out a few of my favorites to recommend.

Augmenting Long-term Memory   Michael Nielsen
Lengthy article advocating for and showing how to use Anki to aid in remembering important information in the long-term. I’ve been interested in spaced repetition for a decade or so, but I’ve never really gotten a good system set up around it. This finally helped me get me off my butt, and I’ve now had a strong Anki routine going all month.

Illiteracy (Play in your browser)  Le Slo
Fun little puzzle game where you discover what to do through experimentation.

Conspiracy   Ryan Holiday
Interesting and detailed account of the Hulk Hogan v. Gawker lawsuit (and all of the surrounding context) that Peter Thiel secretly financed as part of his decade long vendetta to bring Gawker down.
